We are getting close to the 2012 Phuket Heineken International
Rugby 10's now and we will begin the count down with 60 days to go just in case you are not excited enough. Some of you have yet to confirm 100% and we are still holding a space for you so if your on the list and shouldn't be let me know so we can offer the spot to another team.
- Once again the main comp promises to be a close fought affair with 2010 champions Kriel Rooster from South Africa along with other ex champions Morrabbin Rams from Melbourne and the Emirate Airlines Flying Muppet's all in contention for the cup. With new boys coming in from Abu Dhabi Saracen & the Groote Eylandt Mudchooks, Newcastle Crockatoo's & South Coast Black Cockatoos all from Australia will ensure that they dont have it all their own
way. Other teams who will be looking for a share of the spoils will be the YCAC from Japan, The Sri Lankan Lions & the Assassins from UK. A possible spanner in the way of things could also come from 2012 Singapore champions and regular Phuket 10s visitors the Singapore Bucks. As ever the Thai Legends will be giving their all and hope to go one step further to reach the finals this year.
- In the Coffin Dodgers vets tournament the old rivalry for the Weasel Cup will continue with holders the Phuket Viagrabonds going head to head with the Old Bangkok Bangers for the coveted trophy. Contenders for the main accolade will of course be the Morrabbin Rams winners on numerous occasions and the Cottesloe Old Gulls. A strong contingent from Singapore of the Bucks Stags, Wanderers Wrinkles & Bedok Kings will again be battling for honours. New boys the Lanka Lions as well as the Taipei Silverbacks will no doubt bring flare along with years of experience to the tournament.

- This year as at all Phuket 10's tournaments we will again be raising funds for the Asia Center Foundation www.asiacenterfoundation.org. This year is the 10th anniversary of the foundation as well as our association with them so we want this year to be more special than ever and to try and beat the record for raising cash. At the moment we are keeping close to 100 kids in school and your help in this can never be underestimated. We already have teams who unfortunately cannot make it this year who have pledged to continue supporting their sponsored child through the coming year.

phuketlomasrugby/ goes from strength to strength with the kids performances getting better and better and who have just benefited from an excellent weekends coaching course held by Dob Dwyer & Mike Penistone here in Phuket. http://www.bobdwyerrugby.com/. A full write up on their exploits during the last year will be in the tournament program. Unfortunately due to the current financial crises we have lost our sponsor which makes expanding the youth rugby program difficult. If any teams would like to donate equipment we would be very grateful. Desperately needed are balls and tackle shields. Also a sponsor wouldnt go amiss !!
- Phuket Lomas Rugby will host an Under 12s & U 15s tournament will be held in conjunction with the main event with teams from Singapore, Bangkok & Phuket
- Phuket International Hospital will again have staff on hand to take care of the walking wounded.
- The draw and schedule will be announced once all teams have confirmed their participation.
